Last week I rode my 2005 FJR to Lake George NY from Tabernacle NJ (285 miles), and met up with a friend. We rode through VT, and NH to Longport on the coast of Maine. All secondary roads, and some amazing twisties. Then up the coast to Bar Harbor, and Cadillac Mountian , then followed the coast and hit a number of great harbors and some incredible back roads (187 is worth the side trip). Made it to Calais (the International hotel was cheap and lots of bikers), in Eastern Maine. Rented golf clubs (I had brought balls) and played the Eastern most golf course in the US. St Croix Country Club. Rode up to New Brunswick for dinner. The next day, rode back to Mt. Washington NH and rode to the top. Coming down that 35 degeee dirt "road" at 6000 ft was one of the scarier thing I have done on a mortorcycle. Stayed at the Thayers Hotel in Littleton NH (old hotel in middle of town, with lots of character) and headed back to NJ (435 miles). 1715 miles from Tues at 3:00 pm to Saturday at 3 pm. I have my bike outfitted with a larger Cee Baily Windshield, Throttlemiester, GPS, XM, and Givi rear case. That FJR is an AMAZING machine! Fun, Fast, and comfortable. I did Wyoming and back a couple of years ago (4300 miles in 8.5 days) but this ride was much more fun, Some great roads up in New England.
