Fred, it must be catchy. I pinched a nerve in my neck a couple of weeks ago. Difference with me is that the pain goes away when I put on a helmet and ride. Doc says it's positional so I need to do more riding. Who am I to argue? :yahoo:

PS: Hope your squared away before Wednesday.
Yeah, I had a prostate infection so my doctor said "You have to have *** more often"... You am I to argue???

Doctors! You got to love them! :yahoo:

Well, had my second full PT appointment, a repeat of the last one with more Ultrasound, deep tissue massage, Traction on the neck and E-STIM. I'm feeling a lot better. More and more optimistic every day. One more appointment next Tuesday and I'm rolling outta here on Wednesday.

We should be in mid-day on Friday.

Heidi, could you please have my pipe and slippers ready... :p

Gee, I thought it was just me. I messed up my left elbow doing house demolition and my right shoulder is so screwed up I have pins and needles all down my right arm. Been at the chiropractor every other day for 2 weeks just to be able to ride.

It helped some, Ibuprofen by day and Long Island Iced Teas by night should take care of the rest. :D

I know these things may vary by individual, but I have found far more success with Naproxen Sodium. I can't turn my frickin' neck without it. Get a 'script from the doc if you can. It seems that the same mg's from the over-the-counter bottle just do not bring the same success as the 'script does. I take 500 mg, twice daily. For my seriously fooked vertibrae, this is the ****.

Cool. Good to know. Aleve is 200 mg Naproxen (220mg Naproxen sodium) so maybe popping 2 would be the easy way out? I'm sure it says only take one on the label so they can get it OTC.

I'll pick some up before the trip.

These things also take a bit to get into your system and start showing you some benefit. Maintenance is a different thing. Personally, I would start popping 1,000 mg's per day till you start seeing some relief. Then, back it down for maintenance.

Of course, this is just my experience. I am not a doctor, nor do I play one on TV. I did, however, play "Doctor" with Mary in the third grade.

On the grounds that you will all think I have lost my mind I will say this anyway. I also have a bad back at times in my life. The last time I could not get out of bed without help and Vicoden. Not a great way to live. I was pulling myself along the floor to get to the bathroom as I could not stand-up. My wife convinced me to see a acupuncturist. She had been seeing one I was the usual it is a myth, they do not work. Well I was desperate. So I poured myself into the car with some help from the pain pills. After 20 min and some calming music, No chanting I swear, and no incense I was pain free for 4 hours. I went to work the next day, visited him for 2 weeks and I have been ok. No more major issues. That was 5 years ago. I know we are all different, but it is worth a try for 40 bucks.
