Dittos on the Woodford. Ferget that garbage that tastes like Sta-bil in a fancy bottle.

I'm with ya on the maker's mark, bounce....all other heathen's can hang.

The ayes have it then!

After a morning of errands (and a trip to vote), it looks like day 2 of vacation may have all the responsibility bits completed.

Makers Mark! MM good!

Nice one that is.... !

bit pricey for everyday. I tend to do some of the highland/speyside single malts for everyday type drinking... Aberlour 15, Dalmore 12 types.

On the higher end, the Glenlivet 18 is quite nice. One of my big faves is the Balvenie 21 Port wood finish.... that's a smokin' bottle!

yum yum.... :)

I would consider your taste impeccable. We are talking about vacation drinks here, so I went all out. I am partial to the Glenlivet 18 as well.

Cask strength Macallans is an excellent choice as well (in my book).

Why thank you. :)

I have not had the cask strength...will give that a go sometime. Not sure that I'd stock a whole bottle yet....cask strength tends to mess me up more than i would really like the next day!

Splash a bit more water in it than usual and you'll notice a strong resemblance to Maccallan's 25. At $60 a bottle (or thereabouts) it's a great taste for a 1/3 of the cost

And when it comes down to it....a fifth of jim beam will always do the trick!!!!!!!!!!!

Maker's Mark Ambassador #32369 (since 2001) reporting for duty, sir! Got the certificate stating that barrel # 479147 will bear my name...among others. I suppose when the first bottle arrives I'll have to stop drinking Jameson 12 year old. Now that'll be hard.
