I'm looking at Garmin's website to buy an updated version of City Navigator. I have a StreetPilot 2610. I see there are two selection of Version 8: City Navigator North America DVD and City Navigator North America NT DVD. Which one goes with the 2610? I've searched this forum, Garmin's FAQs, and I still don't know which one to order. Also, I'm traveling to Europe next year, and I'll need European maps. I was thinking that City Navigator Europe v8 would be the right one. Any suggestions?

Sometimes I get the feeling that Garmin isn't thrilled that 'discontinued' units are still in use.

Thanks in advance!

Any suggestions?
What does NT mean? Windows NT? Sorry, no help but I'll be watching this as I have a 2610 that shows a dead end road on my next planned ride and I know otherwise.

NOT

NT is used in some of the newer 'full load' machines, such as the Quest-2. It uses a very compressed version of the maps, where the 'non-NT' ones are compressed, but less so.

The non-NT version is used in more than enough modern units that it will continue for many years to come.

For the 2610 you do not want the NT version. The Euro version 8 will also be the same way.

Info available here. To the right of the screen, click on the product compatibility tab, your 2610 unit will be in the list toward the bottom.
