I keep reading you guys recommend mapping software vs. the free online map sites. I'm not finding much for sale that looks interesting. I'm mostly happy with the online ones but I like the idea of advanced features like excluding certain roads, or avoiding highways altogether. <all together> "avoiding highways".
So what do you guys recommend? I don't have a GPS unit and likely won't get one, if that makes a difference.
