max speeds...

I have read that max speed with the bags on is about 130 mph. Is there a max speed posted anywhere with the windshield full up? Or shall I just find out by myself.....with a nose bleed.

Don't know where you heard that one at, but I can swear that it's significantly in excess of 130. Any that only goes 130 has issues.

On a person's private property, 175 miles away from the nearest public road; after extensive physical training, with proper safety crew standing by including 2 ambulances, a chopper, and on-staff trauma surgeon; after I had filled out an environmental impact statement, gotten permission from the governor, and blessing from a priest....

......naaa....I'll be honest. On a highway headed to Gerlach, Nevada I got a high speed lock of 149 mph on my GPS. Speedo registered 156. I was in excess of 145 for about half a mile. This was with bags on, an extra pillion bag bungeed, gigantic Hella FF200 driving lights, and my CB +4/+2 barn door windshield installed. And I'm no featherweight at 260 pounds.

With the stock windshield up I did 140+before, but it was because I forgot to lower it. It did make a lot of racket at that speed. But, I was more worried it would blow off and severe my head.

LOL...I have those max speeds beat with sidecase, topcase, CB +4+1 and 2up.

It seemed to start slowing down the rate of acceleration around 130 though.
