...it's invisible to LEOs...
Guess again.....

Do a search for "Performance Award".

Damn FNGs...sheesh!
Get on a sport bike and see how fast you attract attention! Even riding at legal speeds. Cops don't even give me a 2nd look on the FJR and even wave occasionally! Not on a SB though! Still like ridin the R1 though! lol

I haven't mastered the Quote thing yet, so...

rst/r1 - Had a stroker Sportster, 88 incher with straight pipes - high profile, with beard, ponytail, bad attitude etc. Did I mention it was red? If they couldn't see me coming, they darn sure could hear me, and they did. That's why, now, I'm amazed that PD and Troopers just don't seem to notice me, with bags, full face etc, when I whizz by at 15 or more over the posted! Happy and grateful. My red K-bike is equally invisible.

kmkirlin - Ask Rod at IC Motorsports about the guy who came into the shop waving a Brit magazine, and asked when Yamaha will import these things, also ask him where is my '04 poster? Great guy, great shop.

Oh yeah, I'm deployed at the moment (see avatar that is too big)

And whatcha gonna do with the wife?

Yeah honey....

That is what I was wondering.

....you started it.

Holy crap, In10city.
So, you'd say the FJR is smoother running than the ZZR1200? I have another bike that is a V-twin. It vibes, too... but differently than the FJR. Both my bikes are sport-tourers, one more sport, one more tour.

You all know I have an ST1100. I had a Ninja 1100 that vibrated quite a bit.

I can't wait to get a Vibrating FJR. I'm going to go out, run it up to 9000rpm, UNZIP and hold it with my right hand. "Let the bike do the work"

I can't wait to tell the girls I've got a 600lbs vibrator that goes 150 mph and I'm going to take them for a ride on it! The line will be 3 blocks long!

"Come on FJR, show me what you got!"
hands_006.gif

And your bitching about the vibration? You guys don't know what you have!

Works for me! :yahoo:

CK

PS, And about all this whining. I never rode an FJR or any crotch rocket that didn't whine! Mostly in 3rd and 4th gear! The bike is a great whiner. Guess some riders just take after their bikes.

I think that there are a few whiners and the rest of it is just making the adjustments that anyone would need to make on a bike due to the height/weight of the rider. As a full sized gorilla at 6'5" 280, for me, the seat sucks and the windsheild is too low, but those aren't bike issues, those are "fit" issues.

Winsheild is on order from Gary ( Vstream) and I think I am going to take the plunge on a Russell Day Long ( although I think the next opening is in Oct) NOT whining though, just stating the facts LOL :p

Hm.....another pick up line to use.....600 pound vibrator that goes 150mph. Bet that would only work on lois lane, though.

mmmmm...........wonder woman....nice rac...um....outfit. I stole her brush cuffs. (don't tell anyone aboot that).

Shame on you. Lois Lane is pure and wholesome. :friends:

She has never had *** with the man of steel. She has never had *** at all. Didn't you ever watch TV in the 50's? Now to tell the truth. I have to watch out for that Jimmy Olsen. I think he is a little light in the loafers.

No, back when I was a TV star, we didn't do that kind of stuff. We were all mom, apple pie and the good old US of A. But that was back in the 50's When a Triumps 650 was the biggest, baddest bike in town, after you got through riding it, YOU vibrated for the rest of the day! (didn't mention the Harleys cause we were in high school then and couldn't afford the oil to keep them running.)
Oil_pump.gif

I bet you young whippresnappers didn't know that blacktop was accidently invented by some guy's in the 40's and 50's that rode the same gravel road back and forth to work, day after day on Harleys.
man_glass.gif

In about 3 weeks the roads would turn to blacktop.

The young men who play me now on the big screen of the movie houses are good, but not as good as me.

You know, the steel they make today is NOT the steel of yesteryear.

I'm all 100% US STAINLESS!
returnsshield.gif
Today they have to add Viagra to the smelting pot, just to get the steel hard enough!

I don't really know what the world is coming to, but then I really don't care, cause when she goes up in smoke,

I'm the only one here who can take off for another world.

You guys are all toast!

But, to get back to the point, Lois is as pure as the driven snow. She is an FJR girl all the way.

I mean Lois is Sweet! and so is the FJR!

I will be taking my bike in next week to replace glove box (cosmetic damage on delivery). I'm finding out what a good shop it is. I will ask Rod about the poster. Looking forward to seeing you come home healthy. Keep us posted somewhere on this forum.

Anybody on this forum in Central/Eastern Iowa check out Iowa City Motorsports. Owner Rod Holst bought one '06 FJR per customer order and TWO FJRs on spec. I was the lucky guy who got the last spec '06. He supports the sport and this bike in particular. He is fair and honest. Don't know yet about the service dept.

Rod and the Geezer talk all day, but the rest of the staff is really great too. Mr Geezer had them put on the heated hand grips and has never been electicuted so I am thinking they do good work. If you don't want to ride I80 and go via hyw 92 Honk as you pass by Penn Central Mall in Osky. I work across the street.

Anyone who complains excessively about the FJR is telling us all something about thier previous experience. My street bike history starts in 1975 and reads like this. 72 GT380, 75 GT750, 79 CX500D, 80 GS1100E, 81 GS1000ST Katana, 78 GL1000, 80 GS1000G, 79 GS1000E, 81 CBX, 89 PC800, 84 GL1200, 93 GL1500, 04 FJRA, 04 Victory TC, 06 FJR.

Up until the 06 FJR, the 04 FJR was the finest motorcycle I have ever owned. Only reason I got the 06 was because of the heat fix, which on the 04 wasn't a show stopper anyway. If you find unbearable fault with the FJR, it just tells me you probably haven't ridden much else and probably need a level set. Only negatives from the 04 to the 06 are the throttle body spool profile and the smaller clutch slave cyl. Both are easily adapted to, and if you do the "Fred Fix" and can replace the slave cyl with 05 unit, probably entirely eliminated. The heat management on the 06 is best in class for any sport tourer.
