some internet sites list the extra letter ( B ) for example. they also list an OEM tire?

i always thought the OEM tires were inferior ?

I will say that my OEM Metzler z6's have performed very well considering that they were designed for higher mileage. No wobbles either unlike the Avons. I guess to each his own on tires. I don't prefer to change tires on my FJR as often as I have to on my other ride so I don't worry about having race sticky tires.

I too have had very good wear and fairly good performance from these tires. I have almost 9K on the set, and am ready to buy another set. I'm not looking to win any races, and for the type of riding I do they are great.

Now, see, I'll never, ever buy these tires, hero worship being what it is and all.

The Z6's were the last Metzler's I intend to buy. They were billed as an improved sport touring tire from (I think) the Z4's, which came stock on my FJR.

Here's the problem with both model Metzler's: they won't hold a line in a high speed turn.

If you ride aggressively enough (for me, 90+ mph turns, 2 up), you can feel a sensation almost like a tiny bit of sand on the road, from both wheels. All the while you're feeling this, the bike will be slowly drifting to the outside of the turn. You're sliding.

I recently put a pair of Michelin Pilot Road's on my 2005 FJR. The bike will now hold a line in a high speed turn, something it's never done well. And they're wearing extremely well.
