I have veryfew miles on my Avons (about 1500). Since My fron is defective and needs to be replaced, I wonder if I coud use a Pilot Road on the front or maybe a Pirelli Strada while still keeping the Avon Storm rear? What are your feelings about PRs and Stradas in general? Will I get high mileage with either?

I think everyone wants to sell you as much as they can..

Dealers want to sell you both.

Every tire manufacture want you to use both of theirs at the same time.

As long as your staying with the same size and the same approximate tire compound. IE not one super sticky and one hard for mileage you should be OK.

I'll second that; with that low mileage there shouldn't be any problem with running those two different brands. I've not had any experience with either brand. I read somewhere else on this forum that Avon will give you a replacement tire if yours is defective. Might be worth a search.

Rear Storm just replaced at 10k miles with a PR2 due a big nail, yet I'll keep the storm on the front for another 2k or so...no issues.
