Saw a thread at "thekneeslider" today and in one of the cruiser mags last night that Michelin has instituted a recall on Pilot Power models, the 2CT 120/70ZR17 and the regular 120/70ZR17, marked "Made In France" and "DOT 6UCW 980T" or "DOT 6UCW 979T". Tread separation at higher speeds, wobble and vibration were cited as issues. Free replacements from Michelin.

Just came from my local shop to have my top-box recall process started and one of the sales staff noticed my front tire had some abnornal wear pattern. The contact patched was slightly raised or bulging. It's a Pilot Power, but made in Spain.......close enough to France for me! :angry2:

Checked air pressure later that night and was @ 38.8 PSI. Have always run Michelins so i don't plan on switching but between punctures and defects.....

Just checked, mine is a HBCW 979T. Close but no cigar!
