mileage drop after 24k service

have 26000 on my 05 fjr. the bike has averaged 38-40 mpg since about 1000 miles. had my 24000 service done at the same dealer by the same mechanic (owns 2 fjr's) as always and for the last 2000 miles i've been getting like 33-35 mpg. same tires, same weather, same trip to work everyday, same everything. different mileage. any suggestions? not a big deal but it bugs me that something is different.

What services did they do?

Maybe when you weren't looking, they dropped one of those detuned French engines in there....

Or filled it full of STP.

they did the yamaha recommended services for 24k.

I wonder if the valve adjustments were done correctly........
