For those wanting to integrate multiple electronic devices (Radios, GPS, RADAR detectors, etc) on their scoot read below.
Big props to John Brown at IT Designs (Mix-It, mixitproducts.com). I recently purchased a Mix-It2 from John's website. I'm very pleased so far with the Mix-It2, it works as advertised. I have a Garmin Nuvi 780 and an Escort Passport 8500 X50 RADAR detector. I tried mickey-rigging this stuff together and it didn't work well. I was getting a loud hum that drowned out my Passport audio. I had a few options; however, the Autocom, and the Mix-It2 were at the top. I preferred the Mix-It2 after I had numerous E-mail correspondences with John and he answered all my questions in great detail. The biggest factor was that the Mix-It2 was specifically designed to isolate the noise between the Garmin and Passport units, without all the extra cables, etc.
The Mix-It2 unit has 2 mono inputs (one with priority override); two stereo inputs; a stereo output; combined on/off switch and volume control; power indicator (green); low battery indicator (red); power input and optional power input cord (supplied); 9V battery included. The unit has a small clip that can clip onto your pocket or tank bag. It also comes with a couple stereo cables, I asked for two mono cables since I have plenty of stereo cables.
John who is proprietor of IT Design and made the Mix-It2, rides bikes and made the original Mix-It for himself then marketed it for other riders. After receiving input from other riders John has since improved the unit and created the Mix-It2.
The built in amplifier is not really needed for my setup, both of my devices are plenty loud, but it helps. The unit is a nicely made package, easy to read nomenclature for the all the inputs, etc. Low battery light and priority override. The unit works as advertised.
To update: I just used this set up on a ride (about 6 hours of continuous use) and it worked perfectly, no issues, no noise.
