We went to a retired training officer's 60th birthday party Saturday night. He's also a taxidermist and outdoorsman. I discovered this laying in his shop. Check out the mass of the tines. I'm no bodybuilder, but every tine at the base was at least as thick as my forearm. The thing weighs 40 pounds! Turns out it was killed in Utah by another buddy of mine who now works in Modesto. Not record book by the numbers but an impressive and one in a million work of creation.

Lovely ankle tan there Toe....the SO must be pleased....(do you even take your socks off in bed) :D

My guess is that your day would be severely screwed were you to have a middle-of-the road encounter with something that size...

If I've said it once, I've said it a hundred times. Animal heads SHOULD NOT be used as decor!

Geez, I guess some people on this forum have the time to head to the tanning salon with their S.O. The rest of us poor shmucks have to work, and some of us are allowed to wear shorts but are required to wear work boots.

Ah s'pose yewer gunna voll-un-tier tuh start the "Suntan Scholarship" fer Fireman Bob, huh?

Now we are getting close to what I thought this thread was aboot.

Is that really toe? I thought all the members in here were old dudes? Oh, hey, toe....I like the white wrist band on your right arm....nice touch.

Odd....I was looking at something else....guess it's just me.....popped circuit breakers....what?

Back on track......... :D I recall reading a few years ago about an poaching family IIRC that had a barn just loaded to the rafters with elk racks, many of which would make the one in your pic look like Bambis-anyone else remember that?

Only when she gives me time. Certainly not the morning after a 48 shift away from home.

Hey, I got 30 minutes of sun on my feet that day. The getup looks a lot better with the shorts and work boots, while we're out in the sun working on hydrants.

Hey, I'm an old (46 next month) dude. The gray hairs just don't show up as well on flash pictures. I promise to look my age at WFO.

I think they must have been hunting in Yellowstone. I saw a documentary called "Yellowstone in Winter" a few years back and some of the bulls looked like Bambi in comparison to their own antlers.
