So I hesitated starting a new thread for this event, but the powers to edit are beyond my reach.

The date was changed primarily because it may have been too late, you know, summer has begun and everyone gets busy. I tend to agree. So with that in mind I reset the date to early May.

What sort of things we'll be getting into I am not sure...TBS? ....tire changes (1 probable1 definite, I'll be putting on a CT for sure)....valve checks? (I know of one guy out here who knows a thing or two about it).....wiring for aux lights? The list could be endless.

There will be some grilling going on, plenty of cool beverages, and most importantly, hanging out and talking about rides done and those yet to do.

PM me if you intend on coming and I'll get you the address. If you're coming a bit of distance, let's say the Fargo area <hint>, and you might need to spend an evening, let me know that too.

Mike

I'm doing this for a totally selfish reason....maybe someone can show me how to use a FREAKING GPS!

date sounds good I should be there. I'll probably need a tire changed at that point too. Do you have a balancer? I'd like to do my first fork oil flush, haven't done that before though. I'll start reading my service manual.

If I don't do it before then we can start with valve check if anybody else wants to do theirs!

Although I won't have maintenance issues, I should show up and meet the MN crew. Assuming work doesn't send me to Timbuktu.

Glad to hear you guys are most likely to make it.

Always great to meet new riders Aasland. Hopefully Timbuktu won't be so ill timed.

And yes Matt, I do have a balancer. I'll be ordering more weights soon as well.

Looking forward to meeting you MNFJR.

Currently I am figuring on the basic staples of brats n burgers for the grill. If anyone knows the "proper" way to BBQ chicken, I'll be up for that too. Grilling chicken has never been my forte.

Another thing I had been thinking about is if anyone (Matt) has any DVDs of rides they've taken, I thought it might be nice to have those playing in the background while we work (or bullshit).

More details about the tire changing that will be going on pleez

You have a tire changer Mike?
I have a very basic set-up for breaking the beads Joe, but it works well. And what more do we need than a few spoons and lube to put a tire back on? I was surprised how easy the tire comes off or goes back on with the basics. A CT will most likely be a different story though. I also have a balancer. What I will need to get more of though are weights, will be ordering more of those soon. The part of replacing a tire that takes the longest is the balancing and how anal particular one wants to be. I tend to be quite "particular".

I will probably be making a lot of videos to compile. I can also bring along the movies Faster and Fastest just so I can watch guys that make $30 million a year to race motorcycles!

I would love to meet the MN FJR crowd. I know Matt. Count me in for beer, brats, and bull. Which one should I bring? ;)

It'll be great to have ya here Roger(?). Definately bring some bull*. As for brats, so far I've got that covered. And the beer? Well I've got a very generous cousin who's agreed to brew 5 different flavors (& gallons) for our enjoyment. If there's something special you'd like to bring, you're welcome to it.

That would be great Matt. Watching how those guys handle a bike never gets old. I'd like to see some of your videos from your camera. I've got a few myself, but having the camera mounted up on the tank, the videos are a bit jittery (kinda like my riding).

Roger was the only TROOPER who showed up for my running of the Tri-State Rally the first day of CFO '11. He had to head home for the weekend but we enjoyed 400 miles of ... 50 degree rainy and misty roads! I'm glad I had the company.

Crap at this pace I'm going to need a new rear tire way before May. My Conti is just melting away in front of my eyes after each ride... lol damnit.

Come by anytime Matt. Get your next tire online and mount it yourself = huge savings.

BTW, I couldn't wait until May either to mount my CT. Changed it this past week and put some miles on it this weekend. I think the "getting used to it" period is over. I like it. :)
