We are planning a little trip of 2 days on September 04th.

We will leave Montreal in early in the morning, and we are planning to be back the next day at night.

We would like to ride on the east coast for a few miles, that will be our target.

One of my friend told me that we have to ride the highway # 1

Do you have suggestions for me ?

Roads to ride

Where to say for the night

Where to est ( a must go )

Etc...

We will be 5 guys

Can't wait for that 2 days trip, this is''THE RIDE'' for us, it is a few years now that we all take the day off on Friday and leave all together, this is the only time of the year we ride together.

Last year we did the Mt Washington, and it was gorgeous.....

Go to Maine, (Old Orchard works) have Lobster, ride South to Boston and perhaps beyond, then come back.

If you prefer to make it Canadian, head to Nova Scotia and New Brunswick. Have Lobster. Come back.

Truro is nice.

Obviously you want to avoid the superslab as much as possible.

I was reading a ride report over on advrider.com about the INTERIOR of the Gaspe pennisula. HOLY CRAPPERONI! Beautiful!

What do you think about this ?

Oh wait, did someone say something?

Your coming to New England? Maine? Check out our website and note the last two rides offered by OSJ. He doesn't ride an FJR, but he sure knows how to find nice roads!

Opps thats not the link...

There it is. The forum is pretty active and I'm sure any questions you have would be answered.

If you are not taking the super slab you might find 108 to 100 or just 100 in Vermont to US 4 all the way to the sea and if you plan to jump in the sea, Ogunquit has a parking lot at the beach where the rivers flows into the sea and there are showers, a little pricy to park, but showers are free. And then if you want to hike one mile of beautiful vista right up the street from the parking lot, walk the Marginal Way (entire mile is on the rock studded coast, very cool) which takes you to Perkins Cove , a boating village with great seafood, lobsters, whatever, at I believe it is called Julies II and there is outside seating overlooking the water. There are also inexpensive open air trolleys if you prefer not to walk. Enjoy!!!

Couple of thoughts: 302 in Maine to the ocean does the job but not direct and full of traffic. From Fryburg, try the other side of Sebago lake, rt. 113.

Maine and New Hampster offer nice ocean-side rides, however.....south of Old Orchard Beach, such as the mentioned Ogunquit, is bad route 1 traffic during the summer.

Good luck and please post your final route and times. Maybe will be able to look for you as doing some construction in OOB as we speak.
