I know its short notice, but any Sacramento riders who are early risers and want to join OrangevaleFJR and I (we came up with this on the phone @ 9:30 last night):

10 AM, Starbucks in El Dorado Hills. (Hwy 50, South on Latrobe, left at the first light is a driveway into the shopping center. Chevron and Mickey D's are on the right, Starbucks is on the left.

No "official route", just go ride for a couple of hours in the foothills. Latrobe Rd. South to L. on Old Sacramento Rd., cross Hwy 49 in Plymouth and follow Fiddletown Rd. to Shake Ridge Rd. Then....?

(Some of us can't make the ride next weekend, so this will have to suffice.)

Don't know where you'll end up, but if you can make it to Sonora, I'll tune up Andrews radio while U wait?

Well, I'll be dipped. Almost the same destination I ended up riding to today (Started by hitting Hwy 49 and Placerville w/ a little detour on 193 to get the blood flowing to the proper organs). Guess I shoulda checked the board before I took off.

Several hours into my ride, I pulled into a random business driveway to check my maps so I could figure out where the heck I was and mark a couple new roads on my "WHEE" map (Daffodil Hill out of Volcano and Hwy 26 between Hwys 88 and 49 are now both highlighted in my Thomas Guide). Out of the office connected to the driveway I pulled into comes UberKul - talk about sheer fluke luck. After the social amenities, Brad points me to another couple of fun roads, then has to return to the grindstone :moil: . Darned working for a living - Oh well, thanks for the hospitality, UberKul, and hope we get to ride together again soon.

If you were on Hwy 26, you were in his neighborhood. NOW you know why he wears out the edges of his tires! :yahoo:

I'm thinkin' I need to repirse the "Flying Low" ride of a couple of years ago where we hit all those "fun" low altitude roads. But then, you'd all be after me like J.B. cuz I ride too slow. <_<

In a month or so, I hope to have things sorted well enough to start partaking of weekend rides with a bit more frequency.

BTW, O'Vale -- I'm heading to L.A. on Sunday, 5/13. Was going to do it in a two day (5/12 & 13) down the foothill route south, but time constraints appear to have me taking 99 south on Sunday and coming back Thursday (5/17). I'm going to the San Fernando Valley and Simi Valley. You're heading to the southern part of the metropolis about the same time?? Wanna hook up for the trip south?

I'm about to enter a 5-6 week phase of major weekend projects, so maybe YOU should plan and lead some rides. :yahoo: At least they won't be coming after you with torches and pitchforks complaining about your slow pace. Right, Hans?!?! :dribble:

Hope you guys had a great ride, it sure was a great day for it.

Ahhh, there will be mucho mucho riding muy pronto...he says, belly still still full of nachos and margaritas from Cinco De Mayo.

Oh yea...wash that filthy-*** bike :)

We're just saving them from themselves.... :glare:

So let's see. We have the CBA (Candy-Butt Association), of which I am a proud member. There must be a club for slow ride leaders.... What could we call it? Slow F**king Ride Leaders (SFRL), Pain in the A** and In Front (PIAIF), I Shoulda Stayed Home (ISSH), Belongs on a Harley (BOAH), FJR Under Clown Kontrol (****).

Scenery Hunting ***** Tourers (*****)?

Tourers Under Refined Delusions (TURDs)?

Just plan the ride so that the "sportier" riders can take off, then the others can break into 2 grops. Every group arrives at the "lunch-stop" within 15 minutes of each other anyway. As long as everyone has maps to the destination, you should be good to go.

Damn... now I read the board !!! .

I picked up the 04, after getting the Tick repaired, from Roseville early Saturday and could have joined you ! ARGHH !!!

Highlander - You mean you came into our turf and failed to check in with us???!!!

BAD boy! :p

Did you get pretty beat up by the north wind riding home Saturday? It was brutal.

Wind was brutal sometimes ! Took the whole lane to keep it under control, couple times it was blowing so hard in gusts I almost changed lanes going over the Altamont pass!!

Hope the knee rehap is going well btw !

REALLY!!! It would have been just as easy for us to meet you at Roseville Yamaha (Andrew lives 15 minutes from the dealer) and take the back roads from there to anyplace! We'd have bought you some breakfast, etc., and would've enjoyed seeing your smiling face.

I guess your email doesn't work on your home computer?!?!?!
