Anyone going? Thinking about it myself. Will be going from Upstate NY. Will be my first time. Any advise on gear, parking, tickets (gral admission?) I think I will break the trip in two and will be staying in Columbus, OH. Approx 3h ride from racetrack. Does anybody know what time is gp race at?

What date is the race. I'm only about 4 hours from there and would love to see a race in person.

I've gone every year all weekend long. In my opinion it is the best event IMS puts on. Personally, I wouldn't waste your $ on reserved seating because general admission allows you to many different areas with great views. I bought reserved the first year and didn't go to my seats one time.

As far as other activities go, definitely ride downtown Indy and park on the Circle one or both nights. All the different bikes (thousands), bands, stunting shows, people watching, etc... it's all a lot of fun. If you've never done it, ride your bike on the track Friday morning. It's fun a couple of times and besides, every so often they look the other way. I popped it over a hundred on the straight aways and took the conrs at a very spirited pace. Parking is free for motorcycles all weekend.

I just got my confirmation that I will be a corner worker at Indy. I think they are still looking for people if you are interested. I got a room not far from the speedway. It is my first time in Indianapolis and I am really looking forward to it.
