What a shame. Does anyone know if he was riding is PD bike or on his own?

Didn't really say. What a horrible way for his wife to be notified of her husbands death.

My guess would be that he was on his personal bike. There wouldn't be much need to run a license plate number on a police bike. They usually have an "E" or exempt plate #.

seems like the odds are that he was still under the misunderstanding about "layin' her down" to avoid wrecks.

This is why I don't believe he was an certified Motor LEO.

Pretty sad how they leave out the part where the SUV pulls out in front of him causing his death. Of course we all know that cars are never the cause. Yeah right.
