This was part of a article in the Palm Springs Desert Sun newspaper this morning. Made me think that I may have more riding years left than I thought. The details in this article are rather sketchy, but here is what I could find. The motorcycle accident is included in an article concerning big rig accidents.

A few minutes later, another crash — this time, on the eastbound side of the freeway — closed lanes at Washington Street.

A 92-year-old Palm Desert man lost control of his motorcycle about 11:30 a.m., Perez said.

The rider landed in the fast lane and his motorcycle landed in the slow lane, blocking traffic along both edges of the eastbound freeway, he said.

The man suffered major injuries and was taken to Desert Regional.

Officers were looking into whether the man hit another vehicle in the crash, Perez said.

If any of you guys know more about this incident, such as type of bike and riders experience, please respond.

The freeway referred to is I-10.

Well, hell, Jerry, I was afraid YOU'D been in one of those things. You know, "motorcycle accidents?" Glad it's a no, and hope the old codger's OK.

Probably is. Must be a tough old bird.

Used to be on ol southern boy racing mx at 82.

Had a helper get him onboard, start the bike and off he'd go.

I scanned the paper this morning and did not find additional details on the old guys condition and Mike, I am not that much older than you.
