Just got my latest copy of 'Motorcyclist'. I know, I know. Anyway, in the "Smart Money" section they make recommendations for used motorcycles. This month's recommendation is the '03-'05 FJR. What I found a bit odd is under the "Watch For" sub-section:

And I quote:

"Top-end ticking that can signal untimely valve-guide wear. Dry/worn driveshaft splines."

Now, where oh where did they get that information? Not from YamaMama.

Gee, I wonder if 'Motorcyclist' reads the forum too.

Slightly OT: The new Motorcyclist layout sucks. Perhaps this was the goal, but it's difficult to distinguish content from the advertising

They should... if they're smart.
Groo...I think your giving them way more credit than they deserve....especially in the intelligence department  ....
I said they should... if they're smart. That doesn't imply any credited intelligence to them, just says what they should do if they had some.

If I were a moto-journalist I'd read all the fora about bikes. Seems like an easy way to collect information. Doesn't require much smarts and it's a very inexpensive way to do research. All it takes is a couple visits to Google.

I have some land in Florida for sale....how about a tower in Toronto?....OK than how about a bridge in London?.... :D

Well, I'm about as likely to believe what I read here as I am to believe what I read in a cycle magazine, or most other popular periodicals, for that matter. B) It all depends on specifically who is writing it. ;)
