This is just a General request for ideas. I have 4 give or take 200lb rocks in my yard I want to move. None are roundish. Any good ideas on how to move them 40 feet to the flower bed? I like my testicles right where they are.

Rent/borrow/steal a skid steer with a bucket (preferably with a skilled operator). Hold a drinking party for some very strong friends (Don't let them drink too much before the heavy lifting). Put a chain around them and pull them with an ATV or pick-up (terrain permitting).

Kids plastic saucer sled and a long pry bar/ lever of some type. Use the lever to lift the rock enough to work the sled under it, then drag it over to the flower bed. This sounds like the kind of job where you go to the store first and buy a case of beer, then call a few of your strongest friends/relatives.

200 pounds isn't really that heavy if you use leverage. A hand truck may work if you can get the rocks onto it with straps and leverage. If you have to slide them, It is easier to wait for winter when the ground is frozen. Barring that, you will probably tear up the lawn a bit, but they will slide. I plastic sled or even a piece of plywood will help.

Rock sleds work great. I've moved some hefty rocks w that method with just a lawn tractor, some boards screwed together and cable...no reverse option tho.

Note the Warn winch. Find a neighbor with one of these....

You deserve to be slapped for this advice. Or rather, for leaving out the most important advice.
MAKE SURE YOU DIG THEM OUT BEFORE THE GROUND IS FROZEN!

Beer sounds like the cheapest, most effective way to move them. Even if they don't get moved, you'll get a lot of really good ideas while you and your buddies stand around drinking the beer looking at the rocks that need moving.

And you'll also get your fair share of bad ideas too.

Seriously? It's Friday. The OP states that the rocks are a measly 200 lbs each and that he likes his testicles right where they are.

And nobody makes a "Yeah, in your wife's purse joke"?

What has become of this forum.

Don Stanley to the white courtesy phone.

My buddies at the Georgia State Penitentiary are really good at making big rocks turn into small rocks. Once the rocks get into the 40-to-50-pound range, you can have the same group of gents move them wherever you want.
