Do you believe this? Murder by Dueling. This would only happen in the free and independent state of McDowell (pronounced Mac-Dowell by the natives) County (I swear!).

However, should you find yourself on WV Rt 16 N this fall, it might be a good idea to consider fueling up in Tazewell, VA and cruising on thru War (hmmnnn) and Welch or at least maintaining a low profile when interacting w/ the natives thereof

No, really, I'm just 'effin' w/ yer haeads!!! There's one or two good people from that part of the state.  :D

I think we should bring back dueling. I'm thinking of suggesting it to some of those that really upset me politically. :fan_1:

Done deal sounds to me like it has never left!

I saw the headline and was thinking to myself, "Please Tell Me This Didn't Happen In KY"
Whew!
Spit across Tug Fork from McDowell and guess where it'll land? Close nuff, I say!

Good Lord... what next!
Remember when we took this ride and I told you we should prolly just cruise on thru War. A few of those folks be certifiable. I wish you could have seen the guys mug shot, his expression was "WTF is all the fuss about, we been livin' thisaway since afore we split from Virginny."

I.E. neither KY or VA is off the hook on this one. :p

Dueling with swords? .....
Heavens, don't give these nutz any ideas!

Yeah Jim, I do remember you saying that about War. I really wanted to stop and take a picture of the sign as we entered the town, too. It read, WELCOME TO WAR.

Jim, FYI... I never tried to defend Virginia. I already know there are some nuts here.

Had a friend visiting Pikeville the other day with his wife who grew up there. Her family still lives there and he loves to rib her about Pikeville's "unique" atmosphere. She constantly defends Pikeville but had no defense for the guy they saw who was going through the bank drive through in downtown while on a HORSE! :)

Yep, there he was waiting in line with all the other cars....had to lean over quite a bit to get his stuff into/out of the teller box pass through but it was apparently a good laugh.
