Yes, I have searched,Googled and read older thread's on this subject but as internet sites open and close faster than an R1 at redline, I thought someone may have found a site that is.. high quality, good selection and has the price and security that would be a home run for quickly downloading(without reformatting or messing with EQ for sound quality) that made sense?

Itunes not your thing??

Sometimes the broadband internet providers offer their own "iTunes"-like sites. For example, Cox Comm has a Rhapsody-based site where for a monthly fee you can download all you want, but I think they limit it to their current customers. I do not use it, but I hear it works well and doesn't limit your use of any brand of mp3 player.

LegalSounds.com
Great selection, no protection BS to deal with and $.09/song.

You really have to watch those Russian sites.

Most of them are setup for identity theft. I bet if you run a free program like Adaware, you'll see all sorts of Tracking Cookies on your system. Hope you don't have a keylogger which records and sends out your keystrokes...passwords...account numbers...etc.

At .09 cents a song, it's hardly legal...

Shit its all makes sense now. I couldn't figure out why Scab was following me all weekend at the KY ride.

I appreciate your concern Daspyda, I'm quite familiar with all of the risks on the internet since I'm in the computer industry. I have been using the site above for over a year with no problems. If you ever want to find a good music download site, ask a teenager. I have 3 of them..

Plus, it's called Legal Sounds so it has to be legit! ;)

Any albums you buy in MP3 format from Amazon are good quality and DRM free. Only problem is their pricing structure is pretty much the same as iTunes at an average $.99/track. If you're anal retentive like me and have to have entire albums, it can be more expensive than just buying the damned CD.

Pricing at mp3.ru is cheaper, but you know the artists aren't seeing any of the money from that site.

Thank you all for the reply's Yes I have and use itunes all the time for my ipods but it seem's a hassle to reformat itunes to regular mp3 files to then download to my garmin mp3 player Is there a good program that would make this easier? or a certain procedure that I am not following?

I have no experience with iTunes or an iPod (it's a fad, it'll go away  ) - A quick google search yields a few places. Does iTunes offer a convert file option in the settings???

Here's a Google search string to grab MP3's off of servers...

-inurl:htm -inurl:html intitle:"index of" insert song name "Last modified" mp3

That would be okay if the issue of identity theft would pertain to that particular transaction.

It's been proven, though, that Russian organized crime has setup popular-subject websites for the expressed purpose of unobtrusively downloading malicious code onto a user's computer. Remember, a keylogger records every input on your keyboard.

Symptoms are usually the pc becoming slow to respond.

It is very important to avoid such sites, and/or run a multi-layered software/hardware defense.

Limewire. If I didn't have dial-up at home I'd still be using it. As for the LEGALITY.... :eh-smiley:
