After owning my '07A for 11 1/2 months I've managed to put 10,000 miles on her. Actually, when I rolled into the garage after work today there was 10,001 showing on the odo. It's been a good year and this is by far the best bike I've ever ridden. No major problems to speak of and enough farkles to get her customized just so. I actually think I'm almost as excited by her as the day I first picked her up from the dealer. I know 10,000 miles isn't jack-sheet to many of you, but hopefully this year I'll manage a few more miles. What with the price of gas these days it's a whole lot better commuter vehicle than my 3/4 ton diesel truck. :)

Original tires?

10k is a big number for a year. I guess you ride the motorcycle for more then fun. Or, perhaps, you do ride it for fun everyday.

Good job! Mine's my "daily driver," used for the 6-mile trip to work at the very least every day, and the occasional weekend ride, and a few actual journeys mixed in there. Coming up on the 12,000 mile mark at 10-1/2 months. Real LD riders won't think that's much, but most other riders wonder how it can possibly happen. Like when you talk about a trip, people ask you how you get the bike there, truck or trailer. "Ride" never crossed their mind. My friends in Atlanta were stunned when I showed up on the bike for a single night, especially as it was raining.

Got it used with 40,900 last June, an '03, so I'm not the first guy on it doing 10K a year!

Pony up boyz!

Picked up my 07 on Jan-31, 2007. Come Jan-31 2008 she had just clicked over 36,000. Ya'll need to quit racing around the picnic table and burn some tires.

:)

Seriously, congrats on the 10k mark. It's all about how much fun you have, not the odo.

I put on my second set of tires (Dunlop Roadsmarts) a couple thousand miles ago. The stock BT-020s were well worn - not Skooter worn - but worn none-the-less.

And yeah, I ride it to work with a dozen day trips and a 3-4k trip thrown in for fun. :) In fact I'm considering getting heated gear for my trip to the Grand Canyon in two weeks. We're going through Gunnison, CO and I'm not looking forward to starting the day off in the high 30s - brrrrr. I prefer hot weather to cold. If I do get the heated gear I'll end up riding my scoot a lot more here in the Dallas area during the winter. Who knows, I might end up with 12,000 miles or more in year two.

But Jeff, it's apparent you ride a lot. How else could you go through all the tires? :) But really, I still think I'm even wit ya on the fun per mile scale. :D

You might consider the chemical, one-time-use heating pads made for sore backs etc. I found them to work pretty darn well as temporary heated gear. Don't get me wrong, I wound up buying heated gear for more permanent use. But the chemical pads will buy you time to try on and seek out the right purchase.

And on the other end of the spectrum only 5k in 2yrs on my '06. Looking forward to years of fun. I'll try to pick up the pace.

Had mine 2 months, 4500 on it tonight.

I have 6K on my 05 but duties are divided between several bikes.

I use the FJR mostly for two up. The FJR is like a sportbike that

happens to have hard bags. :yahoo:

Congrats FuzzyR. Not too shabby. I got almost 12G on the 06 but don't ride to work and its split between two bikes. Keep up the good work. PM. <>< :D

I just passed the 10,000 mark on my 07 and the most noticeable change is the smoothness in the engine. I don't get the tingling in my hands anymore. I just finished up a 4,000 mile ride to Guadalajara, Mexico and really noticed the change in the motor. On an another note the Mexico trip is not recommended for a multitude of reasons. Also, I changed out the tires to roadsmarts for the trip and I have definite flat spots on the front and rear. I never got that with the original tires but I also ride the twisties as much as possible whereas the Mexico trip didn't have a lot of curves over the course of the 4,000 miles.

Good Lord Jeff... at that rate you're going to catch up to my '04 in a short amount of time.

Congrats on 10k!

My 07 just turned over to 10k this week also after 9 months of ownership (I bought new in Aug 07). But I see that we're just slackers compared to some on this board.
