Well I got my new '05 FJR on 5/3/05 and this is what it looks like so far.

Hope you like it as much as I do.

HOLY UPGRADES BATMAN!!!! You have done ALL of that in less than 2 months??? You must be single.

ahhhhh, sorry, I drifted off there for a moment, reminicing the "good ole days".

A very, very nice bike you got there. Where are you in FL?

Very cool. It is going to take me years to get to that point. I started with a very short list of farkles but it gets longer every time I see something like this.

heh, I bought most of my farkles (much $$$$$) before the bike even arrived at the dealers. In March I had CeeBaileys +4+4, helis, bmw grips, vista cruise throttle lock, kimpex heaters, top gun bar ends, fenda extenda, FZ-1 Mirrors, mokos, fjr pilots stickers, fjr 'etched' windscreen sticker on the CB, matching HJC helmets, RAM GPS Mount, , , and my bike didn't arrive til 14 July!! I was going nuts!

edit - 1 year and 12,500 miles later, I love every single farkle I put on!!

I think I would have opted for the blue-anodized Spiegler fittings..... were you going for the contrast effect?

That rear ABM rotor look pretty hot with those Titanium-anodized carrier bolts.... got 'em from Tastynuts.com, I take it?

Moving to "Accessories" forum....

 Good one, radman.

FtlFJR, nice job! You have been one busy dude. And no major scratches after all the mods. Impressive.

Maybe Mom wants to take it for a spin. Or maybe she has already heard about TWN and wants to be prepared.

Goodness..you named your bike the same as my wife named mine! She surprised me by getting the bike earlier than I thought we would and as a result the registration is in her name. Therefore, she reasoned, she got to name her. She named her Blue Belle. At least the names are spelled different!

Nice mods......Just a question about the brake rotors.....Did you notice any difference in braking performance with the new rotor design?

Gee, you must have spent a fortune to get all the toys. Pretty bike though. :dribble: It looks like the GSG saved your left side from major damage on a tip-over. Good investment.

Nice scoot bro, and nice job on the pics.

Now do yerself a favor and take those silly little baffles outta the Staintunes and let the FJR music flow! Might scare mom away tho...

Thanks guys for the positive comments still more to go though. Parts are here but not installed yet.

@ock913 Where are you in FL?

I live in south Florida just west of Ft. Lauderdale in Weston.

@BlueHammer

I to had five months to wait so I was all ready with the goodies when the bike showed up. The FJR forums and tech sites were great for the preparation.

@Warchild were you going for the contrast effect?

As a matter of fact that's what I was shooting for. I figured the three items that were red on the Wilbers 641 needed some company hence the red anodized banjoe's for the Spiegler lines. The blue banjoe bolts go with the blue titainium rotor and caliper bolts which are from Tastynuts.com as you surmized. You were my inspiration on that with the gold anodized ones on your "Deer Slayer". Heck you were my inspiration for just about everything I've done to the bike. If it wasn't for FJRtech.com, group buys and the great documentation "Blue Bell" would be pretty stock right now.

@Vulcan Did you notice any difference in braking performance with the new rotor design?

Performance wise the brakes are definately better then the already superb stock FJR brakes. Both front and rear are rock solid when you apply pressure to the lever. However the front brake has a slight vibration when you first pull the brake lever but smooths out immediately and there is a shudder as the front wheel just comes to a full stop. I'm guessing that the gripping power of the SBK-5 HH pads are the reason for the shudder. The RX-3 rear pads IMHO are far superior to the stock rear pads.

@f1fan It looks like the GSG saved your left side from major damage on a tip-over.

Gotta admit you have sharp eyes and you are right there was a tip over... I was making a very slow U-turn in the shop and there was some oil-dry on the floor and before I realized what happened I was _sshole over tea kettle. Scratched the left bag and the alternator cover but the MOKO save the big parts though. To me this bike is very ungainly and topheavy at lows speeds and when that 600+ pounds starts to go over it happens very quickly.

I still have to install:

Oberon Engineering blue anodized pegs

Power Commander PCIIIusb

Kawasaki passenger backrest

The Suzuki handguard farkle

and haven't even considered the electronics as yet.

Thanks again for the kind thoughts.

I have to agree with FTLFJR and Bluestreek that this is a very topheavy bike. Maneuvering the bike at slow speeds can be very tricky. Once it reaches a certain lean angle there is no stopping, unless you're the Hulk.
