I sure have gotten a lot out of everyone else's posts on this forum but have not been much of a contributor. So the weather being what it is in Colorado today I thought I would share some of the farkling I have done to my ride.
The home stead as I type

Everything I have done to my FJR has been done before by those who preceded me so I'm not offering anything new. Hope you like seeing what I have done to possibly see something you may not of ran across yet, or just enjoy the post. I sure would be interested to see what others have done to their bike whether it's the same or something different, and also what farkle they like best.
Here is one of my favorite pictures of my bike, notice the store behind it. I have always thought that the ATF should be a convenience store rather than a Government bureaucracy.

I will list them as I got them to the best of my memory.
The first item I got from all the Forum post suggestions where sliders. Has not been on it’s side and hope it never is but just incase.
https://i1369.photobucket.com/albums/ag207/silverstreak2/FJR%20farkles/3Slider_zps4e840357.jpg~original
The next couple of items where directed to the comfort of my wife in the hopes she would enjoy riding.
Just uploaded this pic, not really clear

Trying to point out a double power port for heated clothing, here is a picture from Motorcycle larry's that is clearer, didn't want to go back out side in the snow for a better picture. Hopefully the rest are of better quality!

The third thing I did was a back rest from Pirates Lair. It did not come with the strips, added that when I did a new seat. It’s a slick back rest that goes on or off with one thumb nut. I also drilled and tapped additional holes so it is adjustable forward and backward about an inch and a quarter.

With these attempts I was trying to get the wife to feel comfortable to ride more often, just not her thing. She don’t like it, I get it, but think I would ride a lot more if she did. She said if I got a Gold Wing she may like it? I told her it’s not worth it, no offense to Wing people or the wife, but not for me and I think she would still say it’s to bumpy, to windy, to cold. So I probably ride less but it’s all good.
Next thing I did was Motorcycle Larry Highway pegs. They don’t get your legs straight out but they sure change up your seating position on longer rides to move pressure points. I have found it also frees your regular pegs for the back passenger to change their pressure points.

Throttle Meister came next.

Something I don’t have a picture of on the bike that is either my favorite or second favorite farkle is new horns. They are the Hella Supertone. Boy do they sure get peoples attention. There just fun to use when you need to push that button. I have literally seen people jump. Although in most cases my riding the FJR like a sport bike coming out of no where riding up on unexpected drivers is the cause for use. I don’t try to be rude it just happens.
https://i1369.photobucket.com/albums/ag207/silverstreak2/FJR%20farkles/9horn_zps7398186c.jpg~original
The next Item that is tied for favorite farkle is the new seat. I anguished on what to get. Read every Forum post searched everything that is offered for a FJR, went for months while saving trying to decide what to get. I know there are a lot of good choices but finally went with a local guy who fitted the seat to me. Went for two different visits for fitting and in the end could not be happier. The stock seat IMHO is the weakest link on the bike. I have read some who think the stock seat is fine, all I can say to that is you have an iron butt. I love the way the seat feels and the way it makes the bike look. I think the seat is the best farkle to date expensive but worth it. The horn is just fun when it scares someone coming in to your path.

As the Farkling was coming along I wanted to do several other power using items and knew I could not get another wire on my battery. Decided to do a power strip and rewire everything I have added so far and make room for more.
On the right side of the bike under the faring I added positive fused power strip and on the left a negative power strip. If your going to add more than say two items I think a power strip is essential.
While on this pic you can also see the battery tender.
https://i1369.photobucket.com/albums/ag207/silverstreak2/FJR%20farkles/12positive_zps255d3e7e.jpg~original
https://i1369.photobucket.com/albums/ag207/silverstreak2/FJR%20farkles/12negative_zps13af156b.jpg~original
All the wires tuck away nicely under the faring.
It was during this undertaking I added Heated grips, with the on-off on the upper left inside of the faring.

They are an after market set that ran under $60. Seem to be fine so far.
USB twin power port that I put where stock heated grip switch should be. These power my phone and GPS.

I did ram mounts, that seem to be so versatile. They go on and off in seconds you can move items around easy. I have one ball on the stem nut.
https://i1369.photobucket.com/albums/ag207/silverstreak2/FJR%20farkles/16ram_zps10ce4fb8.jpg~original
And one on the left mirror hole.
https://i1369.photobucket.com/albums/ag207/silverstreak2/FJR%20farkles/17ram_zps3f66a0ea.jpg~original
Here they are with electronics.
https://i1369.photobucket.com/albums/ag207/silverstreak2/FJR%20farkles/18dash_zpscf6f90cd.jpg~original
The most difficult farkle was the Rostra cruise control. The mechanical end was pretty easy, but the wiring was a brain teaser for me. I just rewired it enough times to get lucky and it finally worked. It maybe is not as hard as I made it but near the end I almost gave up. Now it’s on, it works and like child birth as I hear you forget the pain and glad you have it.
The unit is under the seat.
https://i1369.photobucket.com/albums/ag207/silverstreak2/FJR%20farkles/19cruise_zps2ed75df9.jpg~original
Controller is mounted on left handle bar.

Quick release Givi tank bag

Voltmeter to keep an eye on the alternator with all the new electronics.
https://i1369.photobucket.com/albums/ag207/silverstreak2/FJR%20farkles/23Voltmeter_zps2c5642c0.jpg~original
Ordered new Cee Balley’s windshield, third try on windshields finally fond that bubble of piece, and mirror wind deflectors from the UK. Think I will only leave the mirror deflectors on during cold months.
https://i1369.photobucket.com/albums/ag207/silverstreak2/FJR%20farkles/24front_zps89739bd2.jpg~original
Mounted this helmet lock under the seat. Just need to remove the rear seat feed this cord through the helmets and then hook and replace seat.
This works ok but I seen another member make the stiff metal one between front and rear seat I think I will make one like that as well.
https://i1369.photobucket.com/albums/ag207/silverstreak2/FJR%20farkles/25helmetlock_zps9b3aa094.jpg~original
An idea that has organized my side case and gained room is to use stuff sacks that are available at any out door or hunting store. There color coded so I know what is in each one, from rain gear to coat liners. I get so much more in the cases this way.

I have a Yamaha trunk not that keen on it, besides that I think that’s all I have done so far. Want to add additional lighting that I have one more fuse location left and upgrade the GPS, hopefully by summer.
Look forward to seeing your bike set up, for ideas and just love looking at, talking about and riding FJR’s.
