Hello all,

Having in mind our next summer trip to Greece (Kefalonia island), I recently changed my "good old" Street Pilot 2610 for the new Garmin Zumo 550, a great GPS and the first one specially designed for motorcycles by Garmin.

You’ll find all the information, many pictures and even videos about my 2006 FJR AE installation in my website at:

https://pierre.inazores.com

You’ll also find, under the "What’s new" section of my website, another very helpful electronic device I got installed in my bike – the “Datatool turn-alert” – that automatically call the rider’s attention in case one forget the turn-light on. It’s a very useful device, especially on the new 2006 FJR model.

Safe ridings !

I really enjoyed your accounting of the trip....I particularly was impressed with all of your fine photos. I want to stage a trip like this for my wife and I soon. Thanks for sharing your experiences.

Nice work! Dumb Question: Does the Zumo happen to fit in the left side locking compartment? My guess is no. :(

PS: I must confess that I never tried it before myself ...

Awesome! Thanks!
I would not store it in there, you can pry the box open with your fingernails. Putting $1000 GPS in there is foolish IMHO. <_<

Edited to add...... .nice pics again apierre, love checking out your travels !!

Hello Highlander,

You're right. In fact it is safer to keep the GPS in the cradle, with the security screw duly tight, then leaving it on the bike's left compartment

Chris, I'm sorry for the late reply but I was out of the island for one week.

In fact it was my Yamaha dealer who install it. But he told me he located the Turn Alert control box and sound alert under the dashboard, bellow the counters.

Best regards.
