Am a bassist.....bass player from the band I play in approached me to play gtr one day because their gtr player was sick.

"Can you learn these forty songs by tomorrow?"

and the rest is history.

I no nothing about music and geetars and all... what makes a Carvin so desirable? Is it better than a Fender or Les Paul?

It's a "quality verses price verses playability" thing....which I personally think carvin wins. My brother has an old carvin dc model...don't remember the number, though. Only remember that both arms above and below the fretboard were identical. He got that one in the early eighties.

quick edit: Carvin gtrs are custom made so you can add things and have things removed.....kinda like farkling.
