I am more then willing to admit I am not the sharpest tool in the shed when it comes to insurance. Here is the info from my policy card:

Bodily Injury Liability

Each Person/Each occurrence

$25,000/$50,000

Property Damage Liability

$25,000

Motorcycle Medical Payments

$2,000

Uninsured Motorists

Each Person/Each occurrence

$25,000/$50,000

Comprehensive

$250 deductible

Collision

$250 deductible

What am I missing, and why?

WOW

Those are some low coverages. I would at least have 100k property and 100k bodily injury.

Do you own your house?

Your Age?

Driving record?

My coverage now:

Bodily Injury Liability

Each Person/Each occurrence

$100,000/$300,000

Property Damage Liability

$100,000

Motorcycle Medical Payments

$2,000

Uninsured Motorists

Each Person/Each occurrence

$100,000/$300,000

Comprehensive

$250 deductible

Collision

$250 deductible

Anything else I should change/add/remove?

Thank you for the input.

If you have no need for claims get your deductible higher. Will get your cost lower A LOT. And I am not sure if I would cary medical coverage either. Unless you do not have a medical insurance.

Unless your prone to use your insurance, I would increase your deductible to lower your premium.

Other than that, If you have decent health insurance, I would drop the Medical Payments since 2k wont pay squat,IMO

Other than that, I would shop around... I have State Farm and they were the cheapest in my area, other companies are cheaper in other areas, Makes no sense to me why though.

$300/yr

33yo

GB has almost exactly what I carry with SF only it runs me about $320/year for an '06. Got my own health and don't carry passengers except wife who is covered on same health plan.

B)

I called and called for 3 hours the other day and Geico was the cheapest I could find, and it costing $619 a year with me dropping the medical and raising the deductables to $1000. State Farm, Nation Wide, All State, Country Wide, and many more want over $1000 per year. I guess Reno Nevada is a bad market for insurance.

John T..................the medical payments coverage you have been quoted ($2,000) is over and above your health insurance. I elect to carry med pay coverage because my health insurance has a 500.00 deductable and a 20% copay up to a total out of pocket expense of...............guess what........... $2000.00. If I have an accident of any kind and end up in the hospital and I did not have med pay of $2000.00........................that would come out of my pocket first before my health insurance started paying 100%

Oh and by the way, just for jollies..............call American Modern, they are a A+ best rated company, get a quote from them to compare.........they were much cheaper for me. Good luck!
