:D So my friend and I decided to take a little trip this year. His buddy was getting married at Big Bear lake in California, so we decided to make it a real vacation. We did a lot of interstate trying to get to our destinations, unfortunately, but still was an incredible trip. What a beautiful country we live in.

We are both members of a local forum (dcsportbikes.net) and we were dubbed the wild hogs because we like to take off on the weekends and have no idea where we are going or staying. As long as it involves twisty roads and camping, we were happy. We planned the trip on that concept. We headed west and really didnt know where we would end up. All we planned was the start on Sept 11th and the return on Oct 2nd.

So here is a link to our trip summary:Va to Cali --- enjoy!

This the summary has a lot of pictures. Just to warn those with slow computers like mine. There is a link to all our pictures in the first post of the thread.

I know I didn't call anyone when I was around, but I was surprised that during the 9k trip I only saw 5 Fjr's on the road. :( My only disappointment. Other than that I just wish I didn't have to come back home, but the mortgage has to be paid.

Some personal comments:

-the west has some really straight and boring roads, but fortunately the police we met there were friendly ;)

-California is beautiful as long as you skip the flatlands in the middle

-traffic is concern when riding in Cali. Loved the lane splitting abilities. i wish all states would do that. I so jealous <_<

-I think my new goal might be trying to relocate to Colorado, beautiful, full of twisties, and still has seasons like Va.

-I have to figure out how I can do this every year

-States traveled, Wva,Ohio,Indiana,Illinois,Iowa,Nebraska,Colorado,Utah,Nevada,Utah,Oregon,California,Arizon

a,New Mexico,Texas,Oklahoma,Arkansas,Tennessee,N Carolina.
