FYI: I'm doing the Gauntlet 1/2 day ride or so on Aug 27th. There will be maybe 4 or 5 other guys going so far. I'll be the only one on a FJR so I thought I'd post it on this forum to see if any other guys were interested. More than likely they'll be 4 of my M109R friends and a couple sport biker friends. It would be nice to meet some FJR riders however.

Here's the plan (Weather permitting)

Meet: 9am at Turners Corner (Hwy 129 & 19)

Ride:150 mile loop counter-clockwise (I am taking "Skeenah Gap" rd off the route as we'll go to Morganton after lunch so we can ride Hwy 60 longer down to Suches)

Lunch: Copperhead Lodge in Blairsville.

This isn't a very long ride but I'm 60 miles south of Atlanta so I got some riding to get to/from the starting point. I'll be riding 2up with my wife as well. This is more of an easy N. GA mountain tour. I plan to stop us at Vogel State Park for a quick walk down to the waterfall as well. If any are interested we can go up to Brasstown Bald along the route as well.

Note: If anyone wants the Garmin Mapsource route map for this just shoot me an email and I'll get it to you.

Would love to join you but no can do that weekend. Spent a couple weekends riding those hills and camping at T.W.O. (Two Wheels Only) in Suches years ago while stationed at Ft. Gordon, GA. I just read that T.W.O. is closing (maybe already has?). Bummer for the motorcycling crowd. It was a great place to stay in the heart of some great riding.

Ok perhaps next time you can make it. TWO is already closed. I've never stayed there but have ridden by it a thousand times. The Copperhead Lodge is much nicer and their prices are reasonable to me.

Nice route, we ride those roads just about every weekend, unfortunately, we'll be out of town for this one. Maybe next time!

Here's some pics from todays ride. Six bikes and 7 people total. (3) Suzuki M109R riders (2) Suzuki GSXR riders (1) and one lone FJR guy and his wife. :)

Me & my wife did 487 miles today. It was a good ride!
