Here are some pictures I shot during the week I was at NAFO:
Loaded up and departing Georgia! Gonna do some dirt & street riding!
Go West young man!
Yeah. It was hot.
Saw these in Olathe and had to stop to get a few photos.
Black Canyon from the west side
Beautiful geology in Black Canyon!
Doug & Russ arrived to Montrose early too and they provided me with a week of great companionship and fabulous riding!
People passing time built these at the road construction stop on 550 Million Dollar Highway
Ophir Pass was absolutely stunning! Fairly easy ride to an amazing view!
Great shot of Doug & Russ heading down from Ophir Pass
Yours truly at an an amazing overlook on Last Dollar Road.
Another view of this overlook on Last Dollar Road.
Doug & I rode up SR18 from Ouray up to Engineering Pass. Holy crap! What a freaking knarly-*** trail that was! We rode very steep inclines with rocks the size of basketballs for almost 20 minutes! Tried not to look at the drop offs 12" to my right practically the whole way up. Crazy chit for sure!
School is in! On the way up we saw an old mine crumbing apart and Doug explained that this part was part of an old rock crusher that the miners used to bust up rocks into a finer pieces so the gold could be separated and collected.
Made it to the top of Engineer Mountain! This shot is at "Oh! Point"
That's Doug back at Oh! Point trying to find his gloves or something.
Alpine Loop
Gorgeous scenic beauty coming down from Engr Pass towards Lake City
This was along a short 5 mile scenic route called "The Lake Fork Spur"
The Blue Mesa Cutoff was incredibly nice! That little dot waaaay out on the road is Doug
I finally caught up to him.
Party back at the hotel! Uncle Hud showing some love!
Bob messing with AJ
It's all good!
Heading up Highway 92 on the east side of Black Canyon
Highway 141 at the Hanging Flume overlook
Check out Russ on the ledge! Doug was asking him to move a little further to his left to improve the shot
The car museum was well worth the $15!!
Model T Roadster
This 1954 F-88 Olds sold for an astounding $3.24 million dollars at a Barrett Jackson auction in 2005
Wow! Thanks for recommending this road Petey!! Highway 65 Grand Mesa Scenic Byway looking back towards Grand Junction.
We chased a 2016 Mustang GT down the backside of this highway for about 20 minutes and I was absolutely amazed he didn't wreck he was going so damn fast. Could even smell the heck out of his brakes through a few turns he was coming into turns so hot. Amazing driving skillz for sure. I can tell you this: I could not have passed him. Then we get down to the bottom at the small town of Cedaredge and he turns right and waves back at us ... I turn back and look and it's a girl! WTF? I just got schooled by a girl! We all 3 laughed our ***** off about that!
Great trip!!!!
