My luck moved from N.Y to nc and there having a heat wave 26 days with 90 degrees and up and i say 70 percent of the time it was 100 and above . They broke a 182 year old record of 103 degrees . There has been drought conditions in certain areas beaches are closed by the lakes also boat ramps are closed . I drove for over 20 years with a tee shirt in this weather ,but last year a fellow rider in front of me mised a turn and went into a ditch after that day i wear a jacket and its not to confie in this weather . So the weather man comes on tuesday and says it will not hit 90 until 5 pm ,i say great fishing or riding get the fishing stuff ready and get a rt to boone nc which is 99 miles from my house . I picked the ride ,Hit boone gased up got on the b.r.p. was going to go 200 miles until i hit the Great smokey mountains national park ride through and the head home round trip 590 miles . The trip to boone no problem b.r.p. after about 50 miles was getting really tired boom no wonder why do to my accident in the last year i might of put 1500 to 2k on the bike . speed limit is 45 you really can enjoy the ride going that fast . rodeabout 30 milesat guess what a nice 20 minute semi heavy rain set in no problem . ride another 45 minutes real tired stop have a bit to eat relax 15 minute get back to the ride 40 minutes later boom 35 minute heavy storm slow down not too many people on the pkwy anyway stop by a rangers office how many miles to the national park her reply 100 miles or 3/12 hrs (YEa RIGHT). Get back on pass ashville go another 50 miles and say thats enough too tired might get my self in trouble turn around get off at ashville stop for something to eat ask the lady how far is rt 40 her reply is 6 miles . 127 miles to get home hit the hwy 8 miles heavy storm i cant see **** but a 18 wheeler and i head for it as fast as i can get in his track and i can see again 2 miles up the hwy there is a underpass i head straight for it park it walk up the inbankment take off the gear and lay back and relax for 45 minutes until the strom passes . And who said the weather man does NOT know what there TALKING ABOUT.
