last month got a ticket 74 in 60 on a hwy. Need a lawyer in the area. Please. Have a clean record and trying to stay this way.

Ticket killer might help out some.
I use a Pre-paid legal service for all my stuff like this.
Thanks John, but it is cost and time prohibitive for me to travel 5+ hours to beat this. Haven't had a speeding ticket or any ticket for that mater in ages. Knock on wood. That is why I am looking for a local boy to go and put on a fight for me.

Have you looked into the possibility of a local "deferral"?

When you say deferral, do you mean have the ticket transferred to a local court?

I mention this, because I believe in CA, if you get stopped for speeding a long way from home, you can request that the speeding ticket be moved to your local court. You must however, request this BEFORE you sign anything presented to you.

No. In some municipalities in Indiana (and elsewhere) you can take your ticket to the clerk of the court, pay the fine and an upcharge, sign an affidavit that says you will be a good boy, and in 6 months the ticket goes from their file cabit to the trash. In my local court, you can defer a ticket once every three years. They hold the ticket for 6 months and if you don't get another ticket in that jurisdiction in 6 months it never goes beyod the clerk. No reporting outside the office at all.

Not all municipalities do it, but it IS a good revenue generator, so many locals are jumping on board.

And it's probably still cheaper than a lawyer.

Matt,

On the ticket it says that I must appear in order to get it. I will try to contact the prosecutor and see if I can strike a deal over the phone.

Thank you.
