I have a 1992 chevy cavalier wagon that I was going to donate as soon as my SAAB is back together. Last week some low life ******* broke out the drivers side front window looking for something to steel for his next crack fix I assume, but as this car is just a daily back and forth to work/home depot kinda vehicle he got nothing and I have a window to replace.

Ive gotten the window from the junkyard, but removing that one left me with more questions than answers and I had to practicaly destroy the door to get it out. It almost looks like you have to remove the weather stripping/track/window as a unit and replace the whole thing.

Anybody know how this is done or have links to a forum where I can get answers?

Rogue, thanks for the link, but no help. I've replaced plenty of windows but this window is new to me, it has clips attached to the window edges that slide in the track. It just doesn't seem that they comeout without the track. Oh well.

And why? it only cost 250 bucks and has been a great beater. 230,000 miles and runs great and sounds like like new. I've had it for two years and it's been a great car, even if I don't really like it. it did help keep the miles off the Caravan so it was well worth it.

I was able to reverse engineer the window mechanism and feel that I am now qualified to help NASA with their shuttle program.
