Hi,

I need to install the RID-5 module from Scorpio to prevent Hi-jacking of my bike.

I have to install the module in series with the ignition engine control wire

Where is that wire easily accessible, and color ?

Thanks for your help !

I’m not familiar with the Scorpio RID-5, so not sure how it’s to be wired in, which would mean my info might be incorrect.

There are 3 wires off the main switch, which are Br/L, a W/L, and a L/Y.

The Br/L goes to the Ignition fuse, then to the engine stop switch, then to the starting circuit cut-off relay and then to the sidestand switch. There’s also a R/B that goes off the stop switch to the coils.

The W/L comes off the main and goes directly to the ECU. You’ll need to start at the switch and work towards the main fuse line under the panel or you may need to go farther back somewhere under the tank.

Br/L = Brown/Blue

W/L = White/Blue

L/Y = Blue/Yellow

R/B = Red/Black

Thanks,

Here is the instructions:

Cut the ignition engine control wire and connect the blue tagged wires in series.

Option # 1: Wire connected between the ignition module and engine stop

Option # 2: Ground wire from ignition module

Option # 3: Wire connected between the iginition module and the coil

Option # 4: Wire that goes to the ignition fuse in the fuse box. This should be either a 10 or 15 amp fuse labeled ign.

Color code Yamaha: Black wire ( wire colors may vary )

The RID-5 is an ignition disabling feature, and will prevent unauthorized starting of the engine when the system is armed.

So according to you, witch wire I should cut and install the module on ?

It's so easy once someone else has done the work ;)

Br/L = Brown/Blue goes to the Ignition fuse which meets your Option #4.

(I did use my FSM to confirm this is correct)
