I fell in Love with Aviation when I was Five years old. Neil Amstrong walking on the Moon in 1969 set it Stone for Me. Fair Winds and Following Seas My Friend.

You Are My Hero! :drinks: :bye2:

A sad day. We have truly lost one of the last great american pioneers.

I grew up during the Apollo ERA down in Florida, my dad worked on the Apollo program, specifically the Lunar Module that landed on the moon.

I was just going threw some old NASA moon photo's my dad just gave me.Those guys were my Hero's growing up.

Actually they still are along with my DAD. God bless you Neil.

One other comment I'd like to make regarding the passing of Neil Armstrong is that a lot of people think that the space program is a big waste of taxpayer money.

Nothing could be further from the truth, the space program gave all of us something to be pround that we are Americans and and can collectively accomplish just about anything.

Our wonderful politicians have kicked the Space Program to the curb while they compulsively spend money on a lot of useless programs that do nothing for the greater good of our people.

They could probably learn a few things from those old astronauts.Sorry if this has political overtones and offends anyone.

correct...lotsa products, jobs, and technology applied to the private sector...more than what the cost of the program itself was added to the economy

besides, what would we do without velcro or tang !!!

Don't forget that that man and his team went to the moon with less technology and computing ability than the phone I'm using to post this with.

That's ballsy!!

Quite a guy - a household name and as humble as a person can possibly be. To me, his humility makes all these idiotic children parading around as 'professional' athletes look like the complete and utter sacks of self-absorbed **** that they truly are. Same for the Hollywood idjuts.

Anyway, Armstrong was an Ohio guy! For anyone in the area for whatever reason, there's a museum in his home town of Wapakoneta. Wapakoneta isn't a very big town, but it's along I-75 through the west side of the state, kinda between Dayton and Toledo. I've never been to the museum, but Sooze has and said it's a very nicely done museum.

A quiet hero who inspired many of us here to be better...i miss the passion, unity, and pride our country had back then in ourselves...but remember, Germany, France, Great Britain,....Mexico...did not plant those flags on the moon...their descendants did under America's flag...the greatest flag ! Fair winds Neil !

Blessed !

Bobby
