I was wondering if Kawasaki would ever update their dated Voyager. Kawasaki announced their new bike and its getting a lot of great reviews so far. For those that like a total touring bike, it has all of the features and it looks really nice.

No, its not a FJR, nor is it an in-line four. But even still, it looks to be a nice bike for the road with all of the farkles. No price was mentioned yet.

Well, I think it's clear that Kawasaki sees Yamaha as the company to compete with in the styling department. It looks remarkably similar to a Venture. Had they kept an inline-4 in the behemoth, I would have kept one in consideration for the day when I am able to get another big-rig. With that V-twin, I'll pass. The fuel economy of the Yammy has also taken the Venture pretty much out of the running. Sheesh, I'm not left with many options.

Wow. That is one ugly P.O.S.. I'd have thought they'd return to their previous style Voyager, and update it along the lines of the C14. Too bad. Just what the world needs - another mega-junker V-twin on the road.

Oh, well.

I was also dissapointed in the change in motor, and styling. Guessing as they have the New Connie , instead of making the new version of the Voyager along the Gold Wing lines as expected , they went with a Cruiser.

They should not have even used the name "Voyager" on it, as it has nothing in common with the older models other that the two wheels.

I'm sure in it's own right it will find a following, but am betting those long time Voyager fans (and owners) are more disapointed than I.

For some reason, 57 Chevy comes to mind (so does the word “brut”) each time I look at the front end on the blue one. And that’s not meant as an insult to the “57” aficionados. Nevertheless, for some reason I’m attracted to it. :worriedsmiley: Seems to me like big K went out of their way to do a good job “tech wise”. But. I can’t help wondering why they didn’t go all the way and include an electrically adjustable w/shield and a reverse. Maybe those two items just go against the grain of dyed-in-the-wool cruiser fans.

I wouldn’t mind swinging a leg over it. But I wouldn’t be willing to put it through a “hauling Ashe” tire test :shades: if it felt like just another brut :weight_lift: chuck wagon.

Who knows, maybe they’ll offer another touring model, based on the I4, later on.

Tru dat. I've got a buddy with one of the originals. I forget what year, he got it 'bout two years before they stopped production. Anyway, this one has lost him for sure. His is getting up there in the mileage. A new version of what he had would have promted a quick upgrade. This thing ain't gonna prompt anything but more miles on the one he has.

I don't doubt it will have great appeal for the cruiser crowd-the standards list is extensive, and looks well though out, and, I think it's a pretty good looking bike. If we all had FJR's, it would be a pretty boring world. And then what could we laugh at?

I refuse to be assimilated into the cruiser culture. If you like them, fine. Other than an Aprilia Tuono, I've never ridden a V twin I've cared for. And yes, I've tried quite a few. Cruisers are like belly buttons, everyone's got one. That's what makes this forum such a breath of fresh air. I'm glad that folks buy them, the manufacture makes good profit off 'em which helps support R&D for bikes like ours and the cutting edge sport bikes. Guess I'd rather ride instead of polishing all the chrome and riding to the local bar.

In the larger touring bikes like that, the Goldwing is the only bike I have seen in MANY, MANY years that holds any interest for me. As others have said, it just looks like a Harley want-to-be to me, and I don't want to be assimilated.

I think you win the prize for the most stereotypes in a single post.

died-in-the-wool.
Oops! Misspelled a word. My bad, deduct 5 pts. That’s what I get for typing and posting before proof :read: reading.
Make that "dyed-in-the-wool", and there was NOI.

Oh well, at least now I know someone is reading my posts.

I think we have a closet twin lover here but just not admitting it.Bet his diving belt is made of used HD parts!
