Out of the clear blue sky Honda shipped them one they had not ordered and it is not spoken for at this time. Got a good look at it during coffee this AM (retired) and it is not your grandfathers goldwing (speaking as a grandfather) smaller and trimmer than my 1800 was, blue with the manual 6 spd. Thought I would post it as many folks are multiple bike owners on this forum, much as I liked it, arthritis says no, not to mention social security and my teachers retirement check. Other wings coming in have deposits on them.

Yessir, that new GW revs up my motor. Lots to read about it in this FJRForum thread.

Local Yamaha/Honda dealer called me to offer a demo ride on the new Eluder. Pretty sure the Yammie's V-twin can't do what Honda's boxster 6 will do, but who am I to decline such a nice invitation? Maybe I'll do a ride report for y'all.

Maybe.

As much as I like the big Wing. Me thinks my future is with smaller, lighter bikes. Even the FJR is now almost too much given all the stuff my poor body is going through..

Hugs n' Kisses

decarver,

I'm with you. I tipped the FJR over in the garage last fall and had to have a neighbor come over to help pick it up.

I went out and bought an FJ 09. Love it. Love it. Love it. The FJR is going on the block when the weather warms up a bit.

My mind was writing checks that my body can no longer cash. The last speeding ticket that I got (76 in a 45 zone) the LEO said,

"You are 70 years old, man. Don't you think that it's time that you slowed down?"

Why is youth wasted on the young?

I've been following closely on the Goldwing forums. Yeah, the ones coming in already have deposits on them at this point. And the DCT is supposed to work fantastic from the early real-people reviews. Less luggage and not as plush passenger area has more than a few saying "meh". At least Goldwings seem to be the one Jap bike that they sometimes offer demo rides on.

Careful of those demo rides. I rode a 'wing in 2001 without any thought of actually buying one, but danged if I didn't bring it home. I had it and enjoyed it until it started hurting my back on days longer than a couple of hundred miles. I went to the FJR, and have no trouble with my back on 600+ mile days that I couldn't have done on the 'wing.

Ironic, I know, and my Goldwing buddies act like they don't believe me. But the upright position is just terrible for my back.

But even if I were interested, the Goldwing is now out of my price range. A friend recently bought a 2017, and when he told me what it cost, I was stunned!

JamesW, 50 and raining Saturday. Hope they don't mind a dirty wing.
You have a crystal ball? It is Sat the 24th. I will be there for food and such, along with socializing. Nothing new in my future for many reasons. Hope you are doing well.

... never mind ... wasn't really funny ... move along, nothing to see here ....

mutter, mutter, mutter ... can't delete my own idiocy.

I have an '07A FJR and a '16 F6B Goldwing. Guess which one stayed home on my two long trips last year? The Wing....

The Gold Wing is approaching the FJR1300 in looks. Replacing the F6B??????

Nice adjustable windshield - about time!

The Gold Wing Tour is not going to be as comfortable for your pillion as previous generations.

Less storage in the saddlebags.

I was shopping at Everett Motorsports and happily purchased a 2003 Wing. My wife will be very comfortable on longer rides.
