New alternative for Soltek HID's

I was browsing the Web and found this web site selling 7 inch HID's with self contained ballast for $ 199.00 a pair.

Take it from someone who has run 7" HID aux lights. They're too big.

Interesting link.... I have to agree the 4" Solteks are big. Do a nice job but still big.

I wouldn't want anything bigger but how about these?

If you're looking for aux HID's a la the Solteks, but don't like the size (and don't necessarily need the EYES OF GOD-type lighting) Hella has a set of 35W HID "fog" lights that are reasonably sized, the Micro DEs. Amazon has the lowest price I've seen on them. Motorsports (aka rallylights.com) calls them driving lights.

They sell a set of halogen lights that use the same housing and reflector. Susquehanna sells them for just shy of $150 through Amazon - you could probably buy a 50W HID kit from eBay and use the DE housings with it if you have a need for the eye of god thing.
