Just installed a new Cee Bailey +4+2 reverse contour. A remarkable improvement. No buffeting, much quieter. Question? Does the additional height pose any issue on the reliability of the windshield hardware and controls? Sorry if this has been posted previously. I am new to FJR and the board.

Got the same on my 07 and 50,000 miles pluse on it and no issue's.

Once running hard in Wyoming on I 90 I dropped it down to the lowest position. Good wind with big trucks and I could see it was taking a beating, so down it went and all was well.

A little common sense and all will be well.

With larger (much bigger)screens I would check all the little screws once in a while. I have the larger rifle and once after a lengthy speedy ride cross country I found some a scosh loose, not real loose, but each snugged up a bit-but carefull with those little plastic guys.

I agree with the comments above. I ran a +6+5 CB for two years/30K + and "high speeds" and now run a +5+4, both with reverse contour. no issues at all, other than the fact I believe it does cost me some mpg. I do check the screws on occasion just to make certain and have never found them to be loose or had any other hardware issues. Now I am at 55K. I find that I ride with the screen in a lower position than I used to and could actually use a +4+4. When around big trucks I do drop the screen to the lowest position to reduce the buffeting on the screen.

BTW - I still have the +6+5 w/reverse flip if anyone is interested. Drop me a PM and we'll work out a price.

Been running a +4 / +3 flip on two FJR's since '06 and another flip on a prior '04. Never any problems with any of them, including swapping between winter and summer shields each season.

Enjoy the new shield!

FJR Bandit - I am interested in your surplus CB but being a newbie I haven't mastered the PM'ing stuff yet. Will investigate now so keep an eye out!!!
