About 3 months ago my wife and I were planning a gettaway on our FJR. My wife was concerned about being able to ride more then an hour or so because of no passenger backrest. So I looked on the web and decided that being a welder by trade I could make something better than what was availible. So I did. We rode 1600 miles in 4 days and because of the design of this backrest/luggage rack we were able to bring more than enough clothes plus a 3 man tent. I decided, after reading about the Iron Butt Assoc. , that there are more than likely a few others that would love to bring their wives along for the ride or need more space for whatever. I was able to mount the Nelson Riggs 80L tail bag. I have improved the design and created a backpad with lumbar support. If anybody is interested contact me or check out my website.
