Hells Angel Sonny Barger's guide to motorcycling, 'Let's Ride'

Good advice too, BTW.

Well, once I got to the part about why he wrote the book, to teach safety to newer riders, and the full face helmet he wears, I thought it might be a good thing.

Then I got to the part about the group ride, where he rides ON the center line and how the pack rides in tight formation and I changed my mind. I'll stick with Lee Parks.

"... his sixth book, "Let's Ride: Sonny Barger's Guide to Motorcycling, How to Ride the Right Way — for Life," co-written with Darwin Holmstrom."

I think one would need a pretty large grain of salt to take with a Sonny Barger/Hells Angel rider instruction book? Although, there may be a gem or two of wisdom found within -- lots of miles/experience.

(I seriously doubt it compares too favorably, instuction/safety-wise, with anything from MSF...)

Darwin Holmstrom, OTOH, is a writer of some note. He's written many motorcycling articles -- the one I remember most was one of his early ones: as a feature for a major U.S. M/C magazine, he was going to document the building and riding and testing of one of the early Buells. He went to the factory in East Troy, WI and picked a bike on the assembly line and followed it through being built -- he would then ride the bike on a little trip around the country and document/comment on the experience (makes a nice story, right? -- Wrong...!) The Buell proved to be a disaster in practice and not even able to make it from one H-D shop to another for repairs. Holmstrom wrote the story -- but, I'm not too sure it was very advantageous to his career as a m/c scribe...?

Except to guys like me... :)
