I've been thinking about getting a new helmet lately. I bought my HJC Symax about 7 years ago. I know that sounds old, but I take really good care of my things. Heck, it still had the stock face shield and the only scratch was a small on from the movers. :yahoo: Anyway, other than the liner, it still looked new. Well, looked new, but the hinges were getting old, the liner had seen better days and the nose guard (what else would you call the little black cup in front of your nose?) fell off at some point a few weeks ago.

Long story short, my wife and son handed me a giant back with a new SyMaxII in it for my birthday (well, early -- she's never been able to keep a gift hidden long...). :yahoo: Silver (should be cooler than my old black one!), with the nifty flip-down sunshade. Absolutely awesome! I was debating between that and the Shoei multitec, but it looks like this one wins. :p

first off, I have to say I REALLY like my head but at the price they get for the SHOEI helmets, I've choked every time I've looked at them. I'm on my 2nd HJC helmet and the second one fit better than the first. I think they've improved the venting. I do get a bit of rain on the inside if it's pouring down but not enough that it affects my ability to navigate. I think you've made a good choice.

I've been to the MC store and have tried on about every helmet out there...

I keep ending up with a Shoei ,,, because it's the one that fits my fat head...

I think that most helmets are made well,,, it's just some fit your head and some don't...

So, if it's comfortable ,, it's probably the right one...

I've had my Symax II for about a year now and love it. It's comfortable, has a huge field of view and I don't think I'll ever have another helmet without a flip down sun shield. It's great for entering parking garages and those dark tunnels on the Blue Ridge Parkway.

As long as Scorpion is in business I will buy my helmets from them. I love their stuff. Looks great, fits great, and taking the shield on and off is easier than any other (imho).

Rode to/from work today (35 miles round trip). It fits even better than the last one. I love the new liners they are putting in them now. Not to mention I swear this one is lighter than my old one!

I was a little nervous when they handed me the bag and it had a helmet in it. Those are usually something you want to try on and test before you buy.... but she had seem me trying this one on a couple of months ago when we went to the store to get me a new doo rag (and she knew the size). Again, ecstatic.
