Picked up my '06 today after the above work and took it for a 100 mi. test ride. No drama; runs as good as, or even better than, before. SLO Motorsports in San Luis Obispo did the work. They ordered the switch after a phone call from me, let me know when it came in, and had the bike for a day. Excellent shop, great folks.

I was wondering if you had all of the 16,000 mile maintenance done including grease steering and the two year things "Replace the oil seals on the inner parts of the brake or clutch master cylinders, caliper cylinders and clutch release cylinder every two years.". All this seems unreasonable and I would like to know how much this cost.

I checked the paperwork and it looks like they just followed the recommendations on the 16k column of the maintenance chart. Nothing about the oil seals mentioned above. Tab was $329 labor and $96 in parts (oil (synthetic blend), coolant, plugs, filter, etc.). Total $425. All three dealers around here were quoting comparable prices.

Thank you. We have an expensive hobby. With the two year maintenance, the bill would likely be over $1000 and that doesn't count $300 worth of tires every year.
