Just got home from work a few minute ago. I have never experienced heat on a motor like I did today. Twenty four miles from work to home in 104* heat indicated along with 90% humidity. I couldn't imagine heading out for a days ride in that stuff. I have a great deal of respect for those who run all the time in heat like that. My Father in law lives in Arizona and 104 is a cool day at times there. You boys can have it. My FJR is parked until it cools down to 96.

When does Arizona get 90% humidity? Other than right outside of a running shower, that is.
Guess I was a little vague. I do that sometimes. I know it gets a whole lot hotter in Arizona than 104. I understand the humidity here in Tennessee has a lot to do with the way the heat feels to us. I'm sure the evening newscast will give us the heat index number which discribes how 104 feels with that kind of humidity. Arizona heat is supposed to be less humid but damn....114 to 118 degrees is hot too.

My wife and I went out for a date in Scottsdale AZ a few years ago, it was 107 at the time. After we were riding for awhile, I asked her if she was hot, and she said she was warm, but it was not that bad. It's all about the humidity!

We actually have 55% humidity here in Phoenix now. It's monsoon season, where storms blow up from Sea of Cortez, MEX.

evilmedic 13 is right! This old Zonie desert rat won't trade AZ 116 for Fubar TN 104 anytime soon. Been there, done that!!!

Just got home from downtown Houston a half hour or so ago. 45 minutes in the HOV lane up to Conroe, I was showing 102-104 on the Feejer dash board the whole way home. Home weather station shows 55% humidity. I was wearing my new Cool Vest. It sure is weird but it works. My hands felt like the grips were on all the way up and my feet hadn't been that hot since I quit working in Algeria. But no sweating in the helmet or chest until I got home and took it off.

It wasn't fully charged up either. I had taken it into the seminar I was attending with the intention of having the catering folks put the packets in thier fridge to refreeze them. They wouldn't do it because they didn't know what it was. Well, OK. So I ended up filling up the plastic bag I had brought them in with the ice water from the table. I'm sure everybody was wondering what I was doing. Anyway, the packets froze almost all the way, only had about 30 minutes to cool them as the class broke up early.

I could tell when the packets were almost thawed out. Right about passing The Woodlands, I could feel the temp going up in my suit (full 'Stitch, all zipped up). The last 15 minutes were getting hot but not yet unbearable. Sure enough, most of the stuff had melted but not quite all of it. Tomorrow, I go back to the same class downtown but I'm going to freeze the packets tonight and put them in a cooler bag for tomorrow. Again, no LDR apparell but it sure works for commuting.
