I love my FJR and R1 but want a straightline rocketship. They are making killer deals on 'oy ZX14's but I'm thinking of waiting for the '08 Busa. Any thoughts on this horrible problem?

New Busa looks to be a road warrior...

Not my cup 'o tea.. just toooooo powerful.

Well, the Busa will definately fit that description, although i didn't think it was that much faster than an R1.

Make sure you find yourself a good traffic lawyer to put on the payroll as well.

First, is the 08 Busa real? Second, will a ZX14 be more developed and have more aftermarket goodies than a new model Busa? (Obvious.)

I think it'd be fun to buy the ZX, give it a couple of extra ponies, and then go out and embarass 08 Busa owners. After all, they're gonna be running around thinking they're the big dogs...... Might as well kick them in the 'nads straight away!

Dude, I love the way you think! I would love to have an R1 and a Busa/ZX!

In response to the other responses:

1. You can never have too much power. Just when you get used to what you've got, you want more.

2. In standing quarter mile, nothing is (currently) faster than a ZX-14. They have shown that you can beat the f*ck out of that motor and it keeps going. Not that the old busa motor is a chump either - that thing has been boosted ten ways till friday and it is indestructable. Those high strung liter motors get by with a light bike, but that's about all. Besides, remember that all the rags generally state stock bikes - you need to either pull the secondary butterflies and fix the resulting leanness with a PCIII on the ZX, or for either bike, get an Ivan's gear-tricking chip. That's when the limits of a rotator cuff and its surrounding tendons can be explored...

3. I don't think anyone on the upcoming busa is going to be embarrassed by any ZX-14 owner (stock to stock). They are talking ~200 crank hp on the new motor, and at 1340 cc it is not far off the zx "14" at 1352. I would guess that Suzu did exactly (and nothing more) than it needed to to get their bike to reclaim the crown again.

I can't stand the new Hyabusa's on looks alone, they look too big and fat, everywhere. I've seen better models at Lane Bryant.

I heard that the Triumph Rocket 3 is actually faster than a Busa in the quarter mile. It handles for crap but in a straightline it's the shit. How accurate the statement I heard I cannot confirm. Does anyone have any knowledge to this?

ZX-14 :dribble: is the only one in my book

all the power and a bitch magnet :dirol:

oh, great, just what the world needs, ANOTHER set of low mileage bikes....

dana,

bd's neighbor, but i've never met him...

The new Busa is pretty fast by the accounts of articles I've read, but that thing sure is ugly! I had an 04 Busa and loved it, but based on looks alone, if I had to choose between the ZX14 and the new Busa, I'd choose the Kawi.

I don't like those "wings" they put on the new busa for the rear tail lights ... just doesn't work for me...
