My wife, her sister and their mother flew out this morning at 8:30 ct for NYC just in time for the strike :D Maybe they wont be able to spend any $ ;) Timing could not have been any better! Thank you NY transit workers, sometimes blessings come in the strangest packages.

Have you seen what they charge per mile for cabs in New York city? ;)

Well dam! she just called me, the cab fare from LGA to the hotel was $40.00. They are in Bloomingdales when she called--no farkles for me for a while

Sounds messy. Hate to have a cage in NY.

This is why everyone needs two wheel transportation.

Never---never doubt a females determination and ingenuity when it comes to shopping and spending $ during the CHRISTmas season in NYC. Oh...the horror.... the horror! my purchase of the feejer last Sept has come full circle and I must now pay the price

So, I leave my house this morning at 7:00 expecting to get into NYC at 10:00. Well, stupid me didn't watch the news this morning and get a call at 8:30 from my customer telling me about the strike. He said they weren't letting any cars into the city with less than 4 people before 11:00. I took an excursion and planned it so that I got to the Lincoln Tunnel at 11:00. I was expecting to see a long line of traffic waiting to get it and I saw what I was expecting. Wasn't that bad, though. It took about 30 minutes to get through the jam and into the city. Once in the city, it wasn't bad at all since there weren't as many cabs on the road.

Not having subways sucked - had to walk everywhere. Cabs were filling up their cars and charging a flat $10 fare per person.

It's not really affecting me much as I only have about 10 blocks to walk.

As always, I'd rather be home, but, for me, it really isn't that bad.
