Ya'll have fun with the acronym "ATTP"

I will be sorely disappointed if there aren't AT LEAST 50 different obscene and outrageous definitions given for ATTP.

Grumpy swears by his ME880 rear. I know it was plenty sticky enough for him at EOM last year. It's soon to be summer with very hot temps on these 40-grit roads. With the heat and lots of foreseeable 2-up riding, it seems an appropriate time to test how the ME880 will hold up.

So by popular vote, the next two contestants on "The Price Is Right For Grinding That Tire" are...

Metzeler ME880 170/60VR-17 Rear $139.95

Bridgestone BT021 180/55ZR17 $119.95

Please!!! Nobody tell my HD neighbor I'm testing a HD tire. I'll never live it down!

& what tire pray tell do you believe to be a HD tire?....HD's have always be shod with Dunlops & Goodyear's in the past.....so I can't believe a Japanese tire (BTO 21) or a German (now Italian owned ME 880) can be considered an HD tire....Metz were used on German bikes (along with Conti's) long before HD knew that they could put tires that weren't squared shouldered on their bikes :derisive: .....(you know....to go around corners).....

Don't know why people hate the stones - seems like a perfectly good tire...

Two things. In the past, many reports of less life (but good stiction), and a front tire that has a prediliction for cupping.
True on the cupping, but it seems that other fronts have their share of problems, too: strada, storms, azarros. I am not sure the cupping is the worst of these!

It's too bad he doesn't test tires under "normal" driving conditions.

almost forgot....

Ashe's Tripledigit Testing Program

The new Bridgestone BT021 front tire is not likely to cup like the older design BT020. The tread design is very different.
BT020

BT021

The tread blocks on the 020 are causing the cupping. During braking or leaning the tread blocks deform and non-uniform wear occurs on the blocks causing the cupping.
I'm thinking the same thing also. I think I'll burn through a set next after the storm's get removed.
