I thought they only handed those out in B.C.! They reward you here by taking not only your license but your bike as well. Good luck Gary. Maybe time for some off road riding....

Well that ******* sucks. I'm sure mine is coming, but i'm ****** handsome enough and have enough personality, I think I could even talk a guy cop to let me off with a warning.

Not sure how fast you have to be going in washington for them to take your bike, but i'm pretty sure I've been over that line once or twice. LOL

UUHHMMM, kepp the rubber side parked for 30 more days, and go get a jetski, preferabley a stand up.

@GaryF: How fast were you going for your performance award and suspension? The problem with the FJR1300 is that you can hit 120 mph and not even realize it. I passed two semi-trucks and two cars all at one time. I glanced down and I was going 120! I slowed my a## down because I did not want a performance award, especially not at that speed!

...the rest of the story?

The laws are tough in BC, I always behave when visiting. It's like the people there want to live forever......

I was 85kph over the posted 80kph limit which is a little over 50 mph above the 50 mph limit. My only ticket for speeding in a long time, but with the FJR you must expect a ticket every time you twist the throttle. Luckily I do like to ride my bicycle and most of my activities are close enough to get there pedaling. I also am working on getting a 1967 Triumph 650 Trophy back on the road. I better get the old bike on the road to save on performance awards. Ride safe everyone.

That you lost your license, and you've actually not been driving is commendable. Around here, finding someone driving with a suspended license is an easy every day occurrence. It's stupid the number of suspensions and revocations people have and continue to drive, with nearly no consequences.

So, good for you! Sorry you lost your DL. That's gotta be a bitch!!

I like Canada but it is one of the main reasons I stay away from there. There traffic codes and speed limits weigh to heavily on my style of riding.

One of the reasons I've opted for the KLR for my long trip through kanuckistan on the way to Alaska, hard to exceed 100KPH as loaded as I will be.

Maybe I'm being too sensitive here, but I'm offended by the reference to my country, Canada, as Kanuckistan. It implies that we are some sort of 3rd world Communist or Islamist dictatorship. I know you're probably just trying to by funny, but I don't find it so. I spend a great deal of time in the United States an my father is American. I admire the American people a great deal. I would never dream of making a joke such as this about your country.

I don't disagree with you but perhaps I have grown a thick skin over the years. Sort of like telling Newfie (or Polish or Italian etc.) jokes. Never sure whether to laugh or take offence at the joke-teller's insensitivity (or outright prejudice). I have been guilty of telling the occasional ethnic joke and would be mortified if anybody thought it was a true reflection of my beliefs or attitudes to a particular group.

Kanuckistan in reference to my country is, I think, a little over the line of being in good (or acceptable) taste although I don't lose any sleep over it. I think if one were to use a similarly derogatory term for the USA on this forum, you might find some people getting pretty vocal. As long as the individual smiles when he says it I can let it pass; even if I don't care for the sentiment.

You're being too sensative. No one here is saying anything disparaging about anyone's country, especially Canada. Some of our best buddies live there. It's not meant in a derogatory way. It's more like messing with your brother than trying to start a fight with your ethnic neighbor. I don't think anyone thinks there is anything 3rd world about Canada. Actually, just the opposite. Someone came up with that term years ago, more out of endearment than anything else. I've heard/seen more Canadians use it than us.

Relax man. Go ride or something.

Ok, I'll pile on.

Kanuckistan, its demeaning, but you need a thick skin to post on this forum. I can live with it. Many Americans know diddle about Canada. And we kicked their ass in 1812.

What I dont understand are the comments about traffic enforcement and speeding. Its no worse here then there in my experience. There are reasonable and unreasonable LEO's on both sides of the border. Is there a state that doesnt punish someone doing double the posted limit? In BC we have mountains, curves, and weather, some of the speed limits actually make sense!

-Steve

HRZ - I have to disagree, never heard a Canadian use that name.
